Using Data to Problem Solve 26-27

In this course, we will focus on using data to problem solve within a multi-tiered system of supports (MTSS) framework. This course is designed for administrators, instructional coaches, and others who may participate on a district or campus problem-solving team. However, all learners are welcome. After engaging in this course, learners should be able to Describe how the different types of data we collect in MTSS can be used for problem solving across the tiers—whether in academics, behavior, or mental health. Set district, classroom, and student goals to identify problems. Set individual student goals to identify problems three ways: using an appropriate grade-level benchmark; using slope, also known as rate of improvement; and using an intra-individual framework. Use goals to determine response to intervention, at the campus, classroom, and student level. Describe how to use behavioral progress-monitoring measures to determine student response to behavioral interventions. Analyze problems to generate hypotheses and use data-based decision-making, including data-based individualization, to design interventions.
